Research Associate (m/f/d) Applied Spectroscopy and Measurement Technology  (fulltime PhD position)

Your responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of new lab based measurement principles for application within reliability analysis
  • Development of analysis methods for non-destructive quality and reliability testing
  • Development of in-line and in-situ monitoring technology for electronic components and systems (e.g. Raman spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, transient thermal analysis)   
  • Physics of failure based and big data driven pass/fail criteria development
  • Reliability and failure analysis of electronic components

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, microsystem technology, mecha-tronics, mechanical engineering, information technologies, mathematics or similar subjects
  • Experience in spectroscopy and electrical measurement technologies
  • Ideal would be experience in optics and RF/HF technology
  • Experiences in modelling of complex application
  • Signal processing and data evaluation
  • Experience in programming languages (ideally C++)
  • Ideal but not mandatory are experiences in artificial intelligence
  • Self-driven, creative, ambitious, proactive, team orientated
  • Structured work methods and scientific approach
  • English fluently (written and spoken) and ideally also German

This is a temporary full-time position initially limited until 30. November 2021. The remuneration shall be in line with the German industrial agreement TV-L salary group 13. An extension of the position is aspired. The possibility of a cooperative doctorate will be supported.
